From 4pm on Sunday 16 August until Friday 28 August 2026, Farrer Avenue will be closed to all vehicles while essential resurfacing works and new road markings are completed.

Parking and cycle storage on Farrer Avenue will not be available during the works. Alternative accessible parking is available on Library Avenue or Gillow Avenue.

Electric vehicle charging points are available on Gillow Avenue, and alternative cycle storage can be found on South Drive next to the Pre-School building.

The footpath on the north side of Farrer Avenue will be closed while tarmac repairs are carried out. Diversion routes for pedestrians will be in place throughout the works. Engineering 1 and 2 can be accessed from the Spine and LEC via Gillow Avenue and South Drive.

Red, blue, black and green bin stores will remain open throughout the works but will be temporarily relocated to Library Avenue. Yellow bins will be moved to the loading bay area within the turning head on Farrer Avenue, and deliveries will continue as normal. The cardboard skip will be temporarily relocated to the turning head on Farrer Avenue. Delivery arrangements will be managed accordingly.

A number of parking spaces on South Drive outside the Medical Centre will be temporarily unavailable while they are used for the contractor’s compound.

During the works, you may experience some construction noise and temporary disruption.
