[Martin Brigham] The future is really bright for students that have an interest in artificial intelligence because it's going to touch every single point and every level of organisational life. The role of artificial intelligence and those that have expertise and experience of that is going to be really important.
[music]
[Hugh Fearnal Williams] This is highly relevant for the world of work today. We have seen the introduction of new AI technologies that keep changing on a daily basis and practical application and suitability of these in the workplace is still yet to be realised.
[Elisavet Christou] So this is a programme designed to cover both the conceptual and theoretical foundations around artificial intelligence, technology and management. But we also want our students to develop strong practical skills through the workshops that we have, case studies that they will engage with and the industry projects they will work on.
[Jaime Simoes Duarte Marques Pererira] These are all real-world case studies from businesses. So problems that businesses have. How do these businesses apply AI methods to tackle this? Also, a very close connection with firms, actual firms that come to campus and provide us with real-world problems.
[Elisavet Christou] We also have a lot of input from a variety of industry connections that we have here at the Management School, where we have experts coming in and talk to our students and explain the real-world implications of these technologies.
[Ajay Baines] Industry connections are really, really important for master's students as part of the company project offer. Students get the opportunity to tap into industry connections. They work with host clients over a period of time, and in that time they get to kind of build rapport with the client. Often, the client can give them access to numerous individuals and stakeholders within that organisation, and that allows students to kind of tap into the expertise of those individuals.
[Rory Daly] We're recognised by employers as preparing our students exceptionally well to make the transition from university into the workplace, and that's why we're a target university for most of the UK and international leading employers.
[Konstantinos Georgalos] The most important skill that students need to start this programme is interest on the topic. We don't need the students to be experts on programming or any technical aspects.
[Martin Brigham] We're really proud of the kind of scholarly communities that we have here, and that's a really important element for learning.
[Kostas Amiridis] The Lancaster University Management School is a great place to study because it has a very strong reputation. Its mode of teaching is research-led. You will be engaging with a variety of scholars dedicated to quite important issues in relation to your topic of interest. And it will be, for you, a home away from home.
