This October, STOR-i welcomed its newest cohort of MRes students to its Centre for Doctoral Training. The cohort consists of twelve students who have joined us from the UK, China, India and Iran, to embark on the STOR-i programme.

As part of their welcome week induction, the MRes students, along with the 1st year PhD cohort and various staff members, spent two days in the Lake District enjoying a packed schedule of team-building activities. These were designed to help them bond quickly and create a strong foundation of community, a core element to STOR-i’s ethos.

The two-day event saw teams of staff and students braving the weather to compete against each other in a series of different physical and mental challenges, whilst also allowing the new cohort time to get to know each other, their mentors in the year above, and STOR-i staff, in a fun and relaxed (and very wet!) setting. STOR-i’s applications for October 2026 entry are already open, so if you are interested in joining us, you can learn more about the programme and how to apply on the STOR-i website.
