The 8m Climbing Wall was designed in consultation with renowned climber, Sir Chris Bonington, and features 12 top-rope lines,16 lead lines, a bouldering cave, and a teaching space.

The Competency Assessment is carried out by a qualified member of the Sport Lancaster team and allows the climber to demonstrate their level of knowledge and skills prior to accessing the facility.
It is a mandatory, free-of-charge part of the registration process for every climber using the Climbing Wall, regardless of climbing experience and ability. Climbers will be asked to:

Following a successful competency assessment, climbers can use the wall unsupervised during its opening hours.
In the Bouldering Cave, intermediate and advanced climbers can use the Spray Wall to practice specific moves and techniques, without the worry of a fixed route. The wall is designed to be dynamic and versatile, offering numerous angles and holds that can be adjusted where required.
Spray Wall users can track their progress via a smartphone with the Stokt App. This app allows climbers to log climbs, view routes, and track improvements over time.
