I am a Senior Teaching Associate and Researcher of Sociology of Work and Human Resource Management (incuding Employment Relations) in the Department of Organsiation, Work and Technology.
I joined the department in 2021 after working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the department for the previous 4 years.
Research Interests
My research interests are centred on the sociology of work and education. I am particularly interested in understanding how marginalized groups (such as home educated people) within society experience work and employment relations, human resource management practices, and general everyday structures within employment contexts. I am favourable to the work of Bourdieu as a way to understand and make senses of the personal experiences of margianlized people of the above structures and practices. I am also interested in using qualitative methods to understand the personal experiences of people and to give them a voice through my research.
