Furness College is delighted to invite its undergraduate students to register for a free self‑guided trip to Grizedale Forest on Tuesday 21 April 2026. Nestled in the heart of the Lake District, Grizedale offers miles of woodland trails, breathtaking scenery and a perfect escape from the pace of university life. The journey will take us through the beautiful Furness peninsula, passing Greenodd and Colton along the way.

Walking in nature is one of the simplest and most effective ways to boost both physical and mental wellbeing. Time outdoors helps clear the mind, reduce stress and reconnect us with the natural world. Grizedale’s expansive forest paths, wildlife and viewpoints make it an ideal setting to unwind, explore and enjoy the fresh air.

As this is a self-guided excursion, we encourage all participants to plan ahead. Take some time to research walking routes, viewpoints, and suitable clothing for the day. Students may also choose to book additional paid activities independently—such as bike hire, Segway experiences or Go Ape. Bookings must be made through the University eStore, and places are extremely limited. We recommend securing your spot early to avoid disappointment. This trip is open exclusively to Furness College undergraduates, and full joining instructions will be sent to registered participants ahead of the event.

🚌 Trip Itinerary – Tuesday 21 April 2026

09:45 (prompt) – Meet on the perimeter road beside the Furness residence blocks. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early and have your Online Store receipt ready for check‑in.

10:00 – Coach departs campus for Grizedale Forest.

15:45 – Return to the coach.

16:00 – Coach departs Grizedale Forest for campus.
