About Secure Growth Blackburn

Secure Growth Blackburn is designed for Blackburn based organisations, looking to develop their knowledge on cyber security best practices, to help mitigate threats and risks.

From learning about different types of cyber threats to understanding the importance of the current threat in the cyber landscape, our speakers will cover a range of content to help your organisation to stay safe through our online workshop.

Through our Secure Growth Blackburn support you will have access to a student intern who will work with you to carry out a cyber security audit on your organisation and provide advice on essential cyber security criteria to keep your organisation secure.

Workshop agenda:

  • Welcome and introduction to what is Cyber Security and why is it important?
  • Cyber threat landscape overview, delivered by local cyber crime unit.
  • Explore how people, culture & social engineering can impact your organisation.

Costs & Eligibility

This project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, administered by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and in partnership with Blackburn College.

This project is therefore fully funded and available to businesses who are eligible under the Shared Prosperity Funding criteria, as follows:

  • Organisations registered in the Blackburn with Darwen local authority
  • Received less than £315,000 of subsidies in the last 3 years
  • Commercially viable organisation

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
