Catered accommodation

Students sit eating in a dining hall.

Most of our accommodation is self-catered but we do offer a catered package in some areas, consisting of breakfast and lunch or dinner every day during term time.

All rooms included on the catered scheme are ensuite (with private shower/WC) and you can choose from five of the colleges: Bowland and County Colleges at the north end of campus, or Cartmel, Lonsdale and Pendle at the south end.

What's included in the catering?

Breakfast and lunch or dinner is provided every day during term time (including weekends), and in Welcome Week. That makes 31 weeks.

Please note that your overall accommodation contract is 40 weeks and we do not cater during the Christmas and Easter vacations. However, food will be available to purchase outside of these times.

What if I have special dietary requirements?

No problem at all, we can cater for most dietary requirements and allergies, and all venues serving catered accommodation food are allergen accredited. Simply get in touch with the catering team in advance, or have a word with somebody on your first day.

Where will I eat?

There are dining outlets conveniently placed for each of the colleges that offer the catered option, and you can find out details of these on the Meet, Eat and Drink web pages.

All students on the scheme are housed together in blocks, in their own colleges.

How much does it cost?

Ensuite catered rooms are available in Bowland, County, Lonsdale and Pendle Colleges, at £276.29 per week. In Cartmel College the cost range is £276.29 - £278.05 per week, depending on the length of contract being 39 or 40 weeks. These rates are for 2026/27.

What's included in the bedrooms?

Whichever room type you choose will be exactly the same as its non-catered equivalent.

Your study-bedroom will be fitted out with a bed (with under-bed storage), desk, wardrobe, drawers, notice board, shelves and a chair. Curtains or blinds will be at the windows.

What's included in the kitchens?

Again, whichever type of accommodation you live in will still offer the same facilities as its non-catered equivalent.

The kitchens are equipped with cookers and microwaves, kettle and toaster, fridges and freezers and cupboard storage space, as well as table and seating.

A vacuum cleaner, ironing board and iron are also supplied.
